SAFE LEARN Kick-off Meeting in Kaunas · January 12–16, 2026

The SAFE LEARN project consortium held its inaugural kick-off meeting at the Public Security Academy of Mykolas Romeris University in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Representatives from all partner institutions from Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, and Germany gathered to officially launch the project implementation phase. During the meeting, Ukrainian partners shared their firsthand experience and identified the needs of students and educators working in wartime conditions. European partners presented their expertise and opportunities for supporting trauma-sensitive teaching approaches.

Key topics discussed included the development of the Online Resource Center (ORC) platform, allocation of responsibilities for project deliverables, and sustainability plans for SAFE LEARN results. The meeting also featured interactive sessions, including a LEGO Serious Play workshop on project sustainability and networking activities.

The kick-off meeting set a strong foundation for collaboration over the next three years as the consortium works together to support war-affected students in Ukraine through adaptive and trauma-informed education.
